I realized that despite the fact that I try to let you – one of our wonderful blog community members – be the first to know about any new upcoming workshops, programs or classes I have been remiss in letting you know that registration is now open for our next Creative Excursion in Tuscany (May 2018). I am so excited about these extraordinary art retreats and wanted to share with you a few details and some “eye candy”!
This is an exciting opportunity to explore and deepen your creative process in one of the most special creative spaces I’ve ever worked in – a spacious, sunlit studio that’s over 800 years old. You’ll be exploring in depth how to build a powerful visual story – through both encaustic painting and photography in the picturesque Val D’Orcia region in Tuscany. (And hey, if you’d rather paint with watercolours, oils or acrylics we can accommodate that too!) This workshop is less about learning techniques and more about how to refine and work with the techniques you already have in service of conveying a compelling idea and expressing your point of view. This art workshop is ideal for those people who are looking to take their image making to the next level – learning to create a unified series of works exploring one central idea or concept.
In addition to working with your paint of choice and photography we will be spending time working through a wide range of sketchbook activities that will deepen and expand your understanding of how to develop imagery, decision making around the elements of design, working with a host of image development strategies, brainstorming ideas for conceptual development and more.
In an effort to keep this little post short…I’m not going to even address the amazing food, wine, ancient architecture, scenic drives, quaint towns, shopping, and many of the other incredible aspects of these creative adventures. I hope you’ll check out our website for further information and enjoy the video below. This small group art retreat (12 guests) is already half full, and I’d love to have you join us, so please let me know if you have any questions!
: ) Ciao for now, Nancy
